Did You Know?
Summer reading isn’t just a fun tradition—it’s a powerful boost for growing minds! When kids read over the summer, they:
Build a lifelong love of reading
Stories spark curiosity, imagination, and joy—helping kids see reading as something they want to do, not something they have to do.
Gain confidence—even if they’re reluctant readers
When reading feels fun and low‑pressure, hesitant readers are more likely to pick up a book and keep turning the pages.
Keep their skills sharp
A little reading goes a long way. Even 20 minutes a day helps prevent the well‑known “summer slide,” so kids return to school feeling ready to learn.
Enjoy meaningful family moments
Sharing stories—whether reading aloud, swapping book recommendations, or chatting about characters—creates easy opportunities for connection.
Unearth something this summer!
