Program Description

Event Details

Join genealogist Patricia Coleman for an engaging introduction to using DNA in family history research. In this session, you’ll learn how to make sense of DNA matches by grouping related matches, building out their family trees, and confirming those connections with historical records.

Patricia brings a unique perspective to genealogy, combining over 25 years of experience as a research chemist with a careful, evidence-based approach to family history. She focuses on using records, data, and DNA together to draw reliable conclusions.

Her current work often centers on Irish family research and tackling challenging cases—such as identifying unknown parents, resolving misattributed relationships, and breaking through long-standing “brick walls.” She also incorporates modern tools, including AI, to help organize information and uncover patterns in ways that were not possible just a few years ago.
