Alzheimer's Reminiscence Kit

Reminiscence Tote Image

Reminiscing and reminiscence therapy involve reaching the memories that reside in regions of the brain not yet affected by the dementia-causing condition. There are many ways to encourage such memories, and you should. They can be comforting, even therapeutic.

Even those with advanced Alzheimer’s disease often remember things that happened long ago. Carers can use that knowledge to provide comfort and strengthen a sense of self in our loved ones. Moreover, reminiscence therapy is not difficult. Essentially it involves evoking memories and talking about, reliving those memories.
