Thomas Westlake

Mr. Westlake was first appointed to the ACDL Board in 2011 and served as president of the Board from 2015 through 2017 during the remodeling and construction at the Geneva and Ashtabula Public Libraries.

He retired from the United States Postal Service with 30 years of service in 2003 after serving as the Postmaster of Ashtabula, Ohio for 11 years.

Prior to this he was the Associate Office Coordinator for the Cleveland Postal District where he assisted the Director of Field Operations in running the 52 post offices in Northeast Ohio with a 440 zip code. He served three years in the United States Army from 1969 to 1972 for a total of 33 years of federal service.

He graduated from Cleveland State University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Business Management degree. His volunteer experience includes serving as past board president of the Lake County Chapter of the American Red Cross, five years on the Ashtabula County Citizen’s Budget Advisory Committee and numerous church mission trips. He enjoys reading, working on antique and collector cars, attending car shows, and doing DIY home improvement projects. Mr. Westlake is a resident of Austinburg, Ohio.
