Program Description

Event Details

Have you heard about the new Makerspace in Geneva? Join our Emerging Technologies Librarian for an introductory lesson on the Form 4 3D Resin Printer by Formlabs. We will discuss the 3D printing process, as well as the washing, curing, and finishing techniques that yields high-quality and smooth 3D models.

The focus of this session will be a discussion of where to find already accessible 3D files on the web at places including https://www.thingiverse.com/ and other sites where 3D print enthusiasts share their designs. We will then talk about how we can easily download these items and then edit them in PreForm, the program that interfaces with Formlabs printers. We will talk about sizing the models, orienting them on the build plate, and adding in supports. These techniques are the critical steps in producing a successful 3D Resin Print.
