Library Field Trips and Tours
Students in grades K-2 will get a brief tour of the library, a short story read to them, and a presentation on how to use the library and how to treat a book. They can also check out one book each.
Students in grades 3-5 will get a brief tour of the library and a presentation on how to use the library. If time allows, older students may play a special scavenger hunt game or other library activity to reinforce the skills they just learned.
For grades 6-12, contact the library for more information.
In a one-hour visit, staff can accommodate groups of up to 30 students. You will be asked to visit the library yourself prior to your class visit to pick up library card applications for your students. These are then sent home with students for parents/guardians to complete, and then returned to you. You should then bring the completed library card applications to the appropriate library at least one week prior to your field trip or tour. This is so your students will have library cards waiting for them when they come for the visit.
Please call the library you wish to visit for specifics about your visit.
To schedule a group field trip or tour to the Ashtabula Library, please contact Youth Services Coordinator Tya Harlan at 440-990-2330. For a field trip or tour of the Geneva library, please contact Youth Services Assistant Tina Conrad at 440-466-4521.
The Request for Class to Visit the Library form below must be completed no later than two weeks prior to the visit date requested. You can also pick up paper forms at the appropriate library. Paper forms must also be turned in to the library you wish to visit no later than two weeks prior to the visit date requested.
Please be aware that not all requested visit dates will be available for scheduling.
