Great Websites for Kids

  • ABC Mouse – This program offers an award-winning online curriculum for young children, from Age of Learning, Inc. and it’s free at our library!
  • Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library – Children from birth up until their 5th birthday living in Ashtabula County are eligible to register for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to receive one free book a month (up to 60 books). EASY ONLINE REGISTRATION
  • IXL Language Arts – Grades K-12. IXL makes the world of words come alive with fun visuals and interactive questions. Build great writers through playful skills that pique students’ curiosity about language!
  • Khan Academy – ages 5 and up. Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empowers learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. It tackles math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more.
  • Kid Friendly Search Sites – These sites were designed to be more suitable for children to use when searching for information on the internet.
  • Sheppard Software – This site offers hundreds of free educational games for kids. Anyone interested in online learning can use this site; it has multiple subjects (geography, math, animals, science) and activities for learners of any age.
  • World Book Kids – This is the classic encyclopedia, presented just for kids.
