Exhibit/Display Policy
Exhibits and Displays
The Ashtabula County District Library invites community groups, organizations, or individuals to use display areas in its libraries.
The use of the exhibit/display spaces conforms to the ALA Bill of Rights:
- Materials should not be excluded because of the origin, background or view of those contributing to their creation.
- Materials should not be prescribed or removed because of partisan or doctrinal disapproval.
- Space will be made available on an equitable basis regardless of the beliefs or affiliations of the individuals or groups requesting their use.
Space is provided for displays of an educational, cultural, civic, or recreational nature; rather than for commercial or political.
Application for Exhibits/Displays will be made at the Circulation Desk and will be based on a first-come, first-served basis.
Acceptance of a display by the Ashtabula County District Library does not constitute an endorsement by the library of the group’s or individual’s policies or beliefs.
Period of time of the display or exhibit will be agreed upon by the library and the exhibitor prior to signing of the Exhibit form. All exhibitors are required to sign an Exhibit Agreement Form which releases the Library from any responsibility for exhibited
items and lists the material(s) to be exhibited. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to set up and remove the exhibits.
The library reserves the right to decline any exhibit or to schedule any exhibit in accordance with the library’s standard of value and quality. All publicity material relating to exhibits shall be submitted for approval by the library before release to the media.
